The Clear Agent button on the Fee Settlement screen is enabled only when you have processed the Town and State fees for a motor vehicle transaction. Its function is to allow you to take a cart where both the Town and State fees were processed and make it a Town Only transaction. This typically occurs when you are a two-check municipal agent and the customer realizes at Fee Settlement that they only have one check and you are about to close the office for the day. The customer would not have time to run home and grab another check and be back before you closed, so if you process the Town Only portion, the next day, your customer can take it to a DMV office. To clear the agent fee, once on the Fee Settlement screen, select Clear Agent. The State Fees will be gone, as well as your municipal agent fee(s).
